Our vanilla farm is first and foremost a family story.
My father, Dharam, is a nature enthusiast with a green thumb. Coming from a family of farmers, descendants of Indian indentured laborers, I am the fifth generation to work the land.
Over the years, my father taught me the art of cultivating vanilla and passed on his passion for this spice to me. Today, the vanilla plantation is an integral part of our lives, and our daily routine revolves around it.
The queen of spices is capricious and demanding. We give her our full attention and ensure that our vanilla grows under the best conditions. The plantation, which is organic, is a peaceful haven where our exceptional vanilla thrives, sheltered from prying eyes.
We invite you to come and meet us to discover the wonderful story that connects us to this sublime vanilla from Mauritius.
Dhareena, Vanilla Grower
We cultivateVanilla planifolia, one of the best-known varieties of vanilla.
An Epiphyte, vanilla is an orchid that grows mainly on a host—an indigenous wood from Mauritius. Our vanilla plantation is organically farmed and requires extensive care.
Vanilla cultivation is demanding. From the moment a cutting is planted until the first vanilla pod is harvested, the process takes seven years. The first flower appears after four to five years.
There are 3 key stages to producing exceptional black vanilla:
Flowering & Pollination
Harvesting
Drying & Curing
